You used to see Altoids tins used for project boxes for everything imaginable, but since 3D printers became widespread, it’s extremely rare to see the tins used for projects anymore. I know a a lot of people in the makerspace who would only buy Altoids to use the tins afterward for their projects. Now, they just 3D print a custom case.
I think few people were buying Altoids for the box (not nobody, I know exactly what you’re talking about, but I’m just saying it was a small piece of the pie) and the fad of Altoids kind of faded.
Yeah I do to store used razor blades rather throwing them directly in the trash. But yeah us who shave in a more traditional way are not exactly legion.

I have 3 boxes I bought for the boxes. :)
And this printable Altoids tin just feels like salt in the wound 😆
Though it does make sense if you want that form factor / nostalgia but are working with a device that uses WiFi/BT and want to keep the antenna internal. The plastic faux Altoids tin wouldn’t block the signal like the real one would.
I guess with so many microcontrollers now offering Wifi and Bluetooth, the end of the Altoids era was inevitable.

Its a type of breathmint that comes in a little tin can.
I had a little op-amp headphone amplifier I built in one because my mini disc player was really, really quiet. Couple LM386’s, iirc.
I had a little self made amp as well. That thing could go loud, you had to be careful (I messed up the resistor or knob that controlled the volume and instead used the computer settings because $ to order another part). 30% was very loud 😀
I don’t know how much it costs to print a tin like that (e.g. in materials), but you can buy plain tins fairly cheap.
