Four House Republicans joined Democrats Wednesday to force a House vote on a straight three-year extension of the enhanced Obamacare tax credits that will expire Dec. 31, delivering a sharp rebuke to Speaker Mike Johnson and other GOP leaders.

Reps. Brian Fitzpatrick of Pennsylvania, Mike Lawler of New York, Rob Bresnahan of Pennsylvania and Ryan Mackenzie of Pennsylvania signed the discharge petition filed by House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries — hours after House GOP leaders rejected attempts by Fitzpatrick and other Republican moderates to seek a floor vote on extending the subsidies used by more than 20 million Americans.

Could it be because their constituents will fuck them up if their healthcare premiums skyrocket?

They’ve got free reign to be as racist/fascist as they want, but they still gotta be careful about healthcare costs.

Conservatives don’t give a flying fuck about others, but they love themselves and their own wallets. Which is why it’s ironic they they support a tariff tax on Americans, but hey, no one ever accused them of being intelligent.

Doubtful, since open enrollment already closed and this bill is DOA in the Senate if it manages to make it out of the House anyway. They’re just taking the opportunity the Dems who voted to reopen the government handed them to pretend to care about this issue without actually doing anything about it that might threaten their donors’ taxbreaks.
