My brain literally compartmentalize languages in different sections of the brain. The English words “mom” and “dad” has never been be used to address my parents, only be used in reference. And in school, my other language never gets activated so… I never has that sort of slip up lols.
I never even knew this was a thing until I read about this online. I don’t remember any of my classmates ever doing that either. Maybe its a rare thing lol.
Just get older and call everyone everyone else. Embrace it! 😂

Based on the percentage of kids that I’ve witnessed call a teacher mom/dad, I don’t think this is much of a problem at all. Now calling your significant other mom/dad, that’s a whole nother issue.

Its funny how because in Asia, the concept of sex is taboo, therefore, there is (AFAIK) no such sexual connotations with the corresponding words for “daddy”.
Happened to me at least once, instant popularity boost.
