Michel Martin is incredible. The intellectual discipline it takes to keep your cool live on a mic in this moment and stick with the question and get an answer (or non answer that says it all) is just amazing and we’re fortunate to have her doing the work she does.
I heard this this morning and went on YT to find a clip of him saying what he said on Newsmax. And look, I’m all for you mourning your friend. You loved him and I’m incredibly sorry you’re suffering. However, you do not get to continue to spread division by saying, “leaders on the left need to stop spreading hate…” This was the perfect time to just say, “political violence needs to stop in both sides, we’ve seen far too much of it” but you placed blame. Because you’re emotional and lost a friend. But the blame is squarely with you, encouraging the rhetoric of us vs them.
