Even if Democrats get in power again, it’s going to be so very hard to undo this because a whole lot of useful idiots think that federal workers shouldn’t even have unions. A few more hate the idea of unions, period.
Unionized workforces don’t play nicely with captured federal elections systems.
You can’t gerrymander them. You can’t buy them out with an RV or a few grand in lobbyist money. You can’t hit them with a bunch of negative ads in an off year and wipe them out.
They’re “anti-democratic” in the liberal sense of the word. Which is to say, they don’t respond to an easily manipulated general constituency. They respond to their actual working class membership as constituents.
Next person tells you they don’t support unions, you agree with them.
Tell them we really need police unions to cease to exist so we can hold policeman accountable for their countless murders.
Oh, suddenly they support unions?
