Although not open source, I use Obsidian since its really extensible, works completely local and has open source extensions. I thought about using Logseq too. I’d never trust Microsoft with my personal notes tho.

If I write job/*in that puts an emphasis on how the jobs default is a male person, with that weird female inclusivity attached. If we just accepted that the gender neutral way is the common masculine form which applies regardless of the gender I think its more beneficial.
The gender star is anything but gender neutral. It highlight the different genders artificially and still makes the female variant of the word the second choice by separating it like this /* This differentiates it from the default general masculine word which is supposed to include everybody and further strengthens the image of the man as the default in a certain job. I’m sorry but I strongly disagree with you on this one.
And for non-Native german speakers, if this sounds confusing that is because it is!
I think it just makes the german language ugly and still keeps the female version of a word as a second choice. Grammatically speaking I believe just common masculine version of a word which is supposed to speak for everyone involved just makes more sense. If we want gender equality we shouldn’t highlight the different genders more and make the female version the second choice, but thats just my opinion
If you have a proper supply chain and logistics you don’t need to rely on taking civilians stuff. The russian military and the members who loot the villages are just despicable

Bro why is it always you when I go on lemmy arguing on a fucking meme page in favor of communism. Get a life man!
We should encourage that financially. I don’t think communism is a viable solution tho
Don’t you see the contradiction in your own meme? The clown says “we are born selfish” and then goes on to say “people are generous”. This in itself is a massive contradiction.
I’m fine with a slow update cycle as long as they don’t wait too long to actually merge app breaking features, like when recently youtube changed a few things and videos would no longer load.
Some german politicians have also tried time and time again to establish data retention policies because “think of the kids” argument blablabla. But so far they have failed to do that as it was proclaimed unconstitutional by our federal court. Some politicians play with the idea from time to time tho.
Honestly at least they’d be forced to revamp their business model and focus on their users. I’d willingly donate to them monthly if it went to firefox directly and they acted in our interest accordingly
Looks really cool. I hope we don’t have the overreliance on one rendering engine in the future. Once one or the other comes out I’ll definitely try it out.
I feel like this argument is fair enough. I think a pop-up informing the user about it and how to opt out is sufficient.
Google just maliciously makes their websites work way worse on Firefox. For YouTube I personally just use FreeTube on desktop and Tubular (A NewPipe fork) on Android so I never have to interact with that goddamn website
Bro I ain’t writing a doctors thesis to disprove a commie since I know my points stand and I never actually expected to convince you but just through its interesting to see different views. And you’re acting like my opinion is worth nothing. Have a good one mate!
Nah i just took them as sources. You used wikipedia as a source as well. What do you know about me to be able to judge my knowledge just because your opinion differs from mine. I just used it since it was quick to find and quote and if I quoted western sources you’d probably say its propaganda or something.
I’m gonna address point one for now:
Also, as I said the US is not a good country for a western Social market economy with a good welfare state.
I believe the way is to go for something in between. I believe the state is needed to regulate the economy and ensure the safety and well-being of the citizens while keeping the economic freedom that allows for competition and success through novel ideas. Generally something like the Social market economy if you’re interested. I believe the USSR is a horrible example as the economy relied on oil in order to function and is widely regarded by workers who used to live under it as a suppressive country that ignored human rights. The innovation in the USSR was all directed top down from the government and funnily enough stemmed out of competition with the US.
The leadership of the USSR tried to grow the economy in an irresponsible manner which starved millions. While I would like if we would incentivize innovation more the economy in capitalist countries had many smaller quality of life improvements outside of the space race.
When it comes to blockchain technology and ai I think the hype was temporary with blockchain and it itself is quite an interesting and innovative but useless tech. For AI I believe we will see them improve a lot and become many times better than the stupid chatbots we have today and it will probably be the driving factor of innovation of the 21. century. I know this is quite the bold claim but it has a lot of potential.
Ownership also holds one accountable. Were in east-germany many people didn’t see the point in work as the government ensured a certain living standard a potential to rise through new ideas and hard work is non-existent. If we were a hivemind like ants I believe this would work wonderfully but I think we are just too different so we need to take the best aspects of history and not swerve to too strong ideologies.
