It’s certainly annoying and difficult to disagree, but it’s the “trendy new thing”. It’ll disappear in it’s current state then become something new. Whether for or against, I feel that it’s going to improve beyond the detectable stage soon, and what comes then is the conversation I feel is inevitable.

TLDR: It’s everywhere because it’s a trend, there will be pushback, then the tech will move into a new phase. What is the next phase?

Not sure, on Linux I don’t really think about these things. Never had a computer become “bricked”.

Tbh it’s great for the Linux community because we can pick them up secondhand cheap and continue using them.
