Can you give an example how that would happen?

It’s the same way in Finnish.
Yes it does. I think it’s that way because it’s in locative case even though it doesn’t make the word itself look any different. English sort of has cases and doesn’t.
It works similarly in Latin. You don’t say ad domum. You only say domum.
If you happened to like one of your test bakings particularly then you couldn’t reproduce it as accurately unless your method is consistent enough. So you wouldn’t benefit that much if the test was success, I suppose. But I don’t really do much baking so I don’t know how difficult it is to get it right and how much it matters.
It’s not very well colorized. I assume it’s not made by hand. Maybe some AI tool. It looks mostly good enough so only the errors should be fixed by hand.
I’m not sure how accurate the colors themselves are. Looks good to me but I would imagine selecting historically accurate colors for different objects, clothes et cetera would require quite a bit of research.
I see people in this thread complaining about fake sugar and someone mentioned chewing gum with real sugar. I’m just wondering do they sell xylitol gum in America? I see no point in chewing gum if it’s not even healthy for teeth.
Moving to Lemmy made me realize how much time I wasted lurking on Reddit. I didn’t bother to participate because someone would have already said what I thought. Sometimes I could even read one thread for days because there was just so much to read.
But I don’t know if it’s good or bad if there are so many comments. Maybe it’s good if you learn something useful but I don’t think it’s that useful to read for days about random subject you don’t need. At least it’s a some form of entertainment. I think I just read less now that I’m on Lemmy.

2010s era memes
Maybe because we millenials like to reminisce the memes of the time when memes were good.
On the positive note that gives you an opportunity to learn new languages. Maybe you understand one word in a meme post and that’s enough to understand it. Maybe you look up what does it say in the post if you find it interesting. Not really an effective way to learn in itself but a way to expose yourself to foreign languages.
Yes, the UI in Slack is more cryptic after the update. I had some difficulties with searching for messages in the new design. I think you can’t open the search results in context anymore IIRC. Also the change of color scheme. They didn’t even bother to change all the icons to match the new color or they just made the change so quickly they didn’t have time to.
Half man, half bear and half pig obviously.
Well, calling someone a redditor can also be perceived as insulting so maybe they can both serve a similar function.
That’s really nice. Too bad many features in it are not implemented. I liked that old version of MS Paint so when I got Win 7 I copied the exe from old Windows version to it.
[email protected] I want to see people post more Karl Pilkington stuff here
Not sure how is it in other European countries but I associate those particular spices with Christmas. The phrase pumpkin spice didn’t use to be a thing here but now thanks to American influence and marketing people you can buy all sorts of pumpkin spice products here. Some even sell pumpkin latte to make it even more confusing.
I also use the same bottles over a period of time but I don’t think about it like I’m drinking leftovers most of the time. You might think I do but I just consider them pre-opened bottles or not even that. They’re just bottles, in very similar state to when they were opened. I’m not thinking about it like oh, this is the leftover from when I bought and opened this bottle.
Some bird has already sung the lick. Not sure if accidentally though.
Someone commented on my post about Devil World that what I experienced was Tetris effect. When I was scrolling vertically on my phone I would occasionally experience sideways scrolling similar to the game mechanic even though there certainly wasn’t any sideways scrolling happening.
Another one was when I was playing Portal. Traveling via portals became my usual method to move around in every dream I had those days.
