Generally I find they are. Herbs are leaves, flowers and (herbaceous) stems, spices are other parts. A plant might provide both a herb and a spice, but they will typically be different parts of a plant.
Tea would be a herb.
Yeah, this is much the same kind of use. If you work on the assumption that it is just something that has read everything, and everything that has been written about everything you can find it’s utility. Folk want it to be some kind of fact genie, but the only facts it knows are what words go together, and it literally doesn’t know the difference between real and made up.
Isn’t the entire purpose of copilot that it shouldn’t need much in the way of training? I think the extent of it at my employer is “this is the one you use.”
I’ve tried it a few times, the only thing it seems remotely good for is when your recollection of a source is too fuzzy to form a traditional search query around. “What’s that book series I read in the early 2000s about kids who traveled to another world and the things they brought back from it just looked like junk.” Kind of questions.
Hey, you know that thing you use? What if it had a button on it that opened an AI prompt?
Well my mum says it’s a really smart idea from her special little innovator.
Honestly I think a lot of what is held up as AI authored is just written by human hacks. It learned it’s bad writing by reading us.
Why did you, personally, leave Reddit?
At home I can deal with it (and have done). Hotels are a different story and they don’t all have shower heads you can reposition. I’ve even been in ones where the gap between my head and the ceiling would not fit a showerhead between.
Same with sinks and work surfaces. If I control the space you can bet it’s all comfortable for me, but I don’t always had that luxury.
That isn’t even the worst thing. Sinks are. Especially those big, deep professional ones where the bottom is somewhere south of your knees. But even ordinary sinks are almost always too low to be comfortable and you have to do this little half stoop/lean to use them properly.
Also showers in hotels. The controls are low, and sometimes the showerhead is at or bellow shoulder height.
Squeezing into an airline seat is comparatively fine, and I tend not to have to worry about the guy in front reclining because they physically can’t. And the look of fury dying in the eyes of the chap who just turned round to complain about it is a memory that warms me to this day.
But what are they filtering for?
There comes an issue when a private citizen seeks to use the engines of state to punish those whose speech offends them.
It’s one thing to withdraw society and business from someone who offends you, quite another to demand that the state crush them for you. Of course, most states will do that to a greater or lesser degree. No state extends an absolute freedom of speech.
I stand corrected.
I suspect they will graciously provide the necessities in return for your labour and any remaining rights you have.
Take a look at how company stores and scrip worked. As the song goes: Saint Peter don’t you call me 'cause I can’t go/Sold my soul to the company store.
Eh… Close, but they are also a concentration social power (and fundamentally deferred violence), and rights only really exist in the context of social power. You can try and establish your own personal sovereignty but you can be sure that any state that cares to will test that. Sometimes the most you can do is accept that it is able to imprison you or go down fighting, and if you are committed to pacifism the latter is a harder option.
Their god commanded them to have lots of kids. The idea crops up again and again in fundamentalist abrahamic movements. This world is bad but that doesn’t matter as it is just the doorstep before paradise.
“Hydrogen powered” generally means burning hydrogen in oxygen to make water: 2(HH) + OO -> 2(HHO). To run a car on water as you say is a lot like trying to make a fire out of ash, rather than wood. You can’t burn the ash because it has already been burned.
That wrist angle looks uncomfortable as all hell.
Don’t even need to wait that long if you listen to some of the high weirdness folk.
