Open-backed headphones in public will have everyone around you hearing your music no? Doesn’t seem suitable for public transport for example.

And I just don’t like in-ear anymore… Used them for about a decade but it’s always discomfort and trying to get them in just right, and I tried so many models. Not to mention you need to clean your ears all the time or risk pushing the wax deeper into your ear canal each time (or getting it all over the ear bud)

For me personally, the sweat is a small price to pay for the comfort and sound quality of over-ear headphones. Plus they’re harder to lose!

The thing is, once car-centrism is established and normalized, it’s so hard to explain to people what the real problem is. Clearly the kid did a stupid thing and ran into the road when it shouldn’t. Clearly the driver had no bad intentions.

But somehow the thought never occurs to people that kids (and adults) will always be stupid and we shouldn’t strive to make a world where nobody makes mistakes. We should strive to make a world where making mistakes doesn’t kill you.

Look it really doesn’t matter what some crazy people thought in 1580 or 1844. Trying to condemn the entire modern-day nation of Israel and its inhabitants is on par with calling all of Gaza terrorists.

I’m not saying Israel doesn’t have deeply rooted colonialism nor that we shouldn’t study its history, but making blanket judgements about entire peoples based on random historical nitpicks, is the weapon of the enemy.

It’s not even primitive, just communism. The idea that peoples without civilization are held back or stuck in the past is a problematic worldview as well, and doesn’t hold up well with the archeological evidence either.
