    • Anderson .Paak: I know he’s pretty popular but I feel like it’s mostly because of his Silk Sonic stuff. His solo albums are great, especially Malibu. He’s an incredibly talented musician and entertainer. I would strongly recommend anyone watch his Tiny Desk if you haven’t already.

    • Atlus: Pumps out a lot of music, not all of them are bangers. But he has a lot of good songs.

    • Josh A / iamjakehill: I grouped them because they do a lot of music together but they are each fantastic on their own. Save Our Souls is such a great album.

    • Brothers of Metal: Fun power metal band that makes music about Norse mythology. Makes you want to ride out into battle. I’ve shown this band to multiple people who are not metal/power metal fans and they love it.

    • Lorna Shore: I know Through the Hellfire went viral and they are pretty popular for a Deathcore band. But they definitely deserve more recognition. I used to listen to a lot of Deathcore in high school 15 years ago and Lorna Shore single handedly got me back into it. I must’ve listened to all of Pain Remains at least 50 times. I can’t get enough of Ramos’s vocals and Archey’s drumming.

    • Light the Torch: If you loved Killswitch Engage with Howard Jones vocals then you will love this.

    1. I haven’t gone back to Reddit since the rapture. The only time I use it is for Google results.

    2. I use Lemmy A LOT less than Reddit. This is a good thing imo.

    3. Since it’s a smaller community I find that my posts and comments get a lot more traction.

    4. I miss the smaller niche subs. Yes I know that I should contribute and make it a thing on Lemmy. No I won’t because I’m mostly a lurker and would rather just close the app than do any work.

    5. I like how the platform is full of socialist/communist but it can become a bit of an echo chamber.

Overall I am happy with the change. Fuck Spez.

  • I make a no knead pizza which is incredibly easy. It takes me about 15-20 minutes to prepare the dough in the morning. Just mix it in a bowl, cover it and let proof all day.

About an hour before you plan to eat, flatten the dough onto a baking sheet and let proof again. Once you’re ready to eat, just put sauce and toppings of your choice, cook at the highest heat setting on your oven. Should be ready in about 10-15 min.

Best pizza I’ve ever had. Doesn’t compare to the local pizza shops. A lot less greasy also.

  • I agree that cheddar is not bland garbage. I was just trying to make a point of how vastly different the flavors between the two were. I’ve had 4 year aged cheddar and it is fantastic. I guess I was mostly comparing the authentic high quality cheeses to low end mass produced crap. Not really a Parmigiano vs cheddar thing I guess. I’m sorry if I gave that impression.

Also, that’s a great idea. I have some homemade gnocchi in my freezer, I should try it with Parmigiano and pecorino.

  • What are you even saying. They are both cheese. Take macaroni and cheese for example. Most boxed macaroni and cheese uses cheddar and so do many people when they make it themselves.

But I’ve made it with a combination of Parmigiano and pecorino romano and it was fantastic. Much better than when I made it with cheddar. Same thing with scalloped potatoes, made them with cheddar many times but they were never as good as when I made them with the Italian cheese.

Not sure what point you are trying to prove?

  • I’m sure that’s true. I’ve never had the imitation stuff so I don’t know how they compare. I’ve just been blown away by how good they are that it justifies the price for me. They are very strong cheeses so you don’t need to use much. I vacuum seal them after every use so they last forever.

On a semi-related note, Guanciale is ridiculously expensive and that I can’t justify buying no matter how much I want to make authentic Carbonara.

  • I understand that those are completely different but most people don’t buy authentic Parmigiano, pecorino romano or grana padano(I need to try this one). They use the regular plain cheese you buy in the big box stores. So to the average person putting a micro chip in a cheese wheel (which I read wasn’t even true) is an absurd notion. But I was pointing out that the regular cheddar/mozzarella the average person buys is bland garbage compared to these cheeses. I think people should try them and they will realize why they care so much about its authenticity.
