At this point it’s kind of entertaining to see him keep raising the stupidity bar. Absolutely fucking terrifying too, but still also kinda entertaining.

Just this weekend I took an old Gen 1 Surface Go and put the latest Fedora on it and it’s amazing, very intuitive for touch screens. Tried Mint before and it gave me enough issues that I didn’t use that Tablet at all for almost a year.
Edit to clarify, I run Mint on my desktop and love it, just didn’t really work well on my old Surface Go.
TWO international reporters shot in a single day.
Here I thought the article got the nationality of the reporter wrong only to find out they’re just aiming for reporters in general now apparently…
I feel like fewer and fewer people actually WANT to go to the US anyway…
My first thought reading your comment is of the award winning director of No Other Land who got attacked and detained after having already received his Oscar… Then there’s photo journalist Fatma Hassona who was the subject of the documentary Put Your Soul on Your Hand and Walk who got killed in a bombing alongside her whole family.
We are unfortunately learning that becoming famous doesn’t necessarily protect people…
There was a gigantic one back in March, killed over a thousand. A building in Bangkok, Thailand even collapsed.
Not like Myanmar hadn’t already been bombing their citizens up to and after the quake though .
Honestly yeah, that was it for me. Seeing him get elected this time was really this feeling of “Oh, that’s just how it is over there huh?”.
The first time I could just believe your voting systems are messed up with the electoral college and all, and the massive push back that happened. Feelings were also optimistic coming off the Obama years.
But now that he’s spent the last several years fully mask off, investigated up and down revealing all the crazy things we’d been hearing about him and his cronies were true, and he still gets elected? By majority vote too?? There’s no excuses.
The US is actually just like that huh?
Not saying you ARE definitely neurodivergent, but difficulty with jokes and sarcasm to the extent you’re describing is not neurotypical behavior. Basically, no, the behavior is not normal, it’s atypical.
Regarding your longer comment, having rigid, unconventional, self-made rules is another behavior I see in a lot of the neurodivergent individuals I work with. Again, not saying you definitely are neurodivergent, but these are not neurotypical behaviors
Not exactly neurotypical behavior, particularly if it’s all the time. Working with the neurodivergent community, difficulty sensing jokes and sarcasm is something I see a lot. Just worked with a child who was pretty distraught with all the April fools jokes going on with their peers and not being able to tell what’s real or not
What an incredibly polite way of saying “Bitch, we already got military agreements with you wtf you saying, dumbass?”
I legit had the same thought just yesterday. I’m typically very hard on myself about doing a good job with my work and meeting my own expectations, but seeing Hegseth et al. play down Signal-gate got me thinking, I have never in my life fucked-up that bad and these fuckers still have the confidence to say they’re good at their jobs, and that makes me feel better.
There’s still some toxicity around Buddhism at least. Living in SEA I now know several people who are really turned off by the practices and beliefs of their family’s religion, Buddhism, from the way all troubles are explained away as karma to neurodiversity and Learning Differences being hidden because that would mean that person did something bad in their past life.
I used to think Buddhism specifically was the “good” religion that’s more like philosophy, but spending more time with people who grew up deep in Buddhism has made me see there’s really more to the community and it’s beliefs and practices than I thought.
I agree with this advice of having someone take a look at your resume. Way back, I had an older friend of mine with experience managing CV’s help me work on mine and even the base template of my cover letters. I’ve done a number of interviews, mostly unsuccessful though I’m happy with where I’m at now, and one consistent thing I’ve heard is that I have an impressive resume, and I’m forever thankful to my friend for helping me put it together.
I don’t quite agree on customizing your CV for every submission, but I do do this for my cover letter/correspondence.
Also, yes, reaching out directly to places you want to work with has worked for me a couple of times. If there are hiring/networking events for your field, even online ones, I’d recommend that too. Best success I’ve had landing interviews is through these kind of events and I’ve only done online ones.
And it was Zelensky who was apparently “Gambling with World War III”… Tough times ahead methinks.
Fuckin Cheeto
I believe it, but I honestly don’t think it would make any difference in the world at this point if proven anyway
Makes me think of my younger days hanging out on 4chan, thinking I was having ironic, satirical laughs with my fellow anons until eventually realizing most of them actually believed what they were saying
Orange skin with paleness around the eyes is the new giveaway
I feel like this professor pissed off a lot of students who joined his class expecting sermons or something. Did more to reinforce my atheism than anything else. He was a good dude
Knew a theology professor (ended up in his class for credits somehow) who went with the “multiple Jesus’s” theory. Apparently it’s quite possible that stories of a variety of healers/figures got combined into the Jesus mythos. Explains a lot of the time and geographical inconsistencies with the historical record iirc
Found a 2021 reddit post as well
But I feel like I saw this first on imgur back in the mid 2010’s. Might be getting things mixed up though
