As dumb as this is probably going to sound, you’re most likely getting those recommendations because you reported them. YouTube sees that as an interaction and that’s what they’re chasing after. Same for giving videos a thumbs down.

The T is both silent and invisible in Suki’s name?
Twice, I think. I believe Suki also translates to moon
Short answers work best. "oh hey do you have any plans this weekend? “Yes.” Conversation over. Someone asks you how you are, your answer is “fine, thank you” and you move along. You’re polite and you’ve satisfied all they’ve given you. It won’t work all the time, there are some people who are more interested in talking at you instead of with you. For those, I recommend starting the conversation with an exit. “Oh hey, I’d love to chat, but I only have a couple minutes.” You can now walk away pretty much whenever and it’s not like you didn’t tell them, it was the first thing you said.
Are you implying that having DEI is somehow at the expense of white people?
I don’t recall all of the fun fine details of it, but waaaaaaaay back when, there was a math nerd who was also just as much of a religious nut. He’s the main idea behind why graphs work the way they do. Up and to the right is good, where as down and the left is bad. The direction right became synonymous with godliness and the left direction was for evil, just like up and down. In a weird way, math is hella religious
It’s definitely a very well made desktop environment. It’s what I started with back in 06-08 when I started using Ubuntu. Ubuntu has a pretty well built mate flavor, as does Linux mint. The Ubuntu mate flavor is a great one to see what’s functionally possible with mate. There’s a bunch of preconfigured set ups matching various other operating systems and some unique configurations. On my main PC, I’m running garuda xfce, but with bspwm as the window manager. For my laptop, I’m running pretty much the same set up, but with Linux mint Debian edition in xfce/bspwm as well. Your set up is still rad though, I really dig it!
I dig it, although it’s not very reminiscent of the gnome 2 I remember. Correct me if I’m wrong, didn’t gnome 2 get forked into Mate?
The good advice is to just move on. The petty advice is to screenshot all of his bullshit where he flaunts the company he works for as well as whatever other unsavory bits he’s posted and report it to his employers HR team. Just an idea, you could also bang his mom
Pro-tip, at least when I last used Word, hold alt when dragging and dropping images. It somehow fixed the brokenness of the default way of doing it. I think this still works, I just haven’t had to type anything up in like 5-10 years, of the stuff I have, I don’t think I’ve ever had to include an image.
Child porn. There’s an official statement from the folks running lemmy.world explaining it. I really wish I was joking, but there were a couple of suuuuuuuper inappropriate posts, even for shit posting standards. I came across one and reported it. It was a porn gif and at the end, there was a text card saying the person in the gif is a child. Fucking pedos ruining shit for everyone else, they should make like a leaf and hang from a tree
What sort of typo do you have to make to get to the other kind?
Asking for a friend, of course
I’ll level with you. This is from one of the Indiana Jones movies. The main character, Indiana Jones (left) is a college professor/archeologist. The Nazi (right), as in life, are the bad guys and is getting punched by the good guy. The joke is that the Nazi is being referred to as a trump supporter, which isn’t entirely inaccurate, however it is a stereotype nonetheless. Not all trump supporters are Nazis and not all Nazis support trump, however if it were a ven diagram, it would look like one circle since the outliers are very few and far between. Hope this helps
It’s a real shame that we can’t just tell those sites what we want to see, or not see for that matter. Instead were victims of AI/THE ALMIGHTY ALGORITHM. I think that’s part of the plan though, keep us on their site searching for content we actually want instead of finding it and being done. I’m dying for a YouTube replacement to come about. I’ll enjoy that until the inevitable enshittification comes about.
