I find it hard to tell what is worse. The authoritarian military dictatorship or the Muslim brotherhood with their medieval social ideas. Just one thing seems clear, the death penalty is wrong and violates fundamental human rights.

The Islamists would be doing the very same thing though. Shariah law isn’t very kind to non-Muslims.

Muslim Brotherhood all the way… Because they are brainwashing people to spread their bullshit labeled as religion. Anyone who is dealing in religion is far worse than any kind of dictator because the dictator will die in the end but religious bullshit will continue to poison the minds of millions.

I would’ve appreciated that you explained why but I see that many people act like reddit snowflakes because it’s so hard to face the reality.

Nationalism is not a religion but an excuse for people to fuck around commit atrocious acts because someone didn’t talk like they liked. I wonder why it’s so?

In the sense a shed is a skyscraper since they are both buildings. Think people are going to be singing your national anthem 1400 years from now?

Why would the number of years matter? Most religions don’t last 1400 years. And the ones that do might as well be new religions considering how much of their actual practices change.

In July 2013, the leaders of the Muslim Brotherhood organised a massive sit-in in the Rabaa al Adawiya to denounce the the coup.

Security forces later raided the square and killed hundreds of people in a single day in what they termed a counter-terrorism operation.

If your “counter-terrorism” operation involves killing citizens peacefully protesting the ousting of the democratically elected president, then you’re the terrorist.

The real lesson here is that democracy means you vote for the candidate that will benefit USA / Israel.

We fight the terrorism with more brutal terrorism. That turns the original terrorism into a footnote and reduces its significance.

Congratulations everyone, we’ve successfully defeated Terrorism©

This whole thing has been when I realised that democracy is not what westerners want for the rest of the world. I remember no one batting an eye.

(…) for their role in the deadly violence of 2013, which followed the military’s ouster of Mohamed Morsi, the country’s first democratically elected president.

The men were accused of conspiring to topple the government of Abdel Fattah el Sissi, who himself came to power after overthrowing Mohamed Morsi.
