It feels more like the Canadians attacking Iran than it being a just resolution to a tort case. Have the Canadians done this to any other country? I know the US has held and tortured plenty of people during the war on terror and I can’t recall any US assets being seized to pay victims’ restitution.
I don’t object to the idea, but man the judge’s justification for why this legally makes sense is downright farcical.
