    It did revitalize support for the party for a short while, primarily because of some progressive messaging, which the entire electorate (both R and D) responds to really well actually. But then the Harris campaign dropped that and started saying things like that they’re in favor of fracking, started bragging about how Biden kept building Trump’s wall, denying the affordability crisis, saying that the expansion of Israel is very important to the US, and saying that she would ensure America has “the most lethal fighting force in the world” (her words). And the funny thing about those policy positions is that if you believe that that’s the direction the country should be heading in, there was a perfect candidate for you, and it wasn’t Harris. So all they managed to do there is alienate democrats who are politically literate and care about things like the environment, worker’s rights, humane treatment of undocumented immigrants, and not doing a genocide.
