    Are investors from the US or our government allowed to buy swathes of real estate in the PRC to the same extent that the CCP or Chinese investors are allowed to?

    I’m betting no.

      Yes, and I know it’s obvious, but the reason for the difference is that China’s leader is not a demented psychopath who decides he wants whatever the last person he spoke with told him to want. So they kind of have the upper-hand in the negotiation.
