Israel’s efforts to influence Eurovision’s vote were broader and started years earlier than previously known. May 11, 2026
Last fall and winter, senior Israeli diplomats urgently contacted officials and television broadcasters across Europe to address a delicate, if unexpected topic: the high camp Eurovision Song Contest.
Broadcasters wanted to ban Israel from Eurovision and threatened to boycott the contest over the war in Gaza. Some even accused the Israeli government of unfairly influencing the results through a mass voting campaign.
Israel arguably had bigger diplomatic concerns than a pop music competition, even one that reaches 166 million viewers around the world. A United Nations commission had recently accused Israel of committing genocide, which it vigorously denied. And world leaders were recognizing Palestinian statehood, which it had long opposed.

It’s dumb pissrael is even invited to erovision. Europeans hate isn’treal more than most places anyway. Why invite some random country from the Middle East into your competition? Especially when that country is commiting ethnic genocide. Boycott that shit then. It doesn’t deserve to exist just like israel.

There are plenty of non European countries that are eligible to participate and have participated in the past. A lot dont participate anymore because Israel is allowed to participate and/or Eurovision is too gay for them. Or because it is too “expensive” to participate.
Europeans hate isn’treal more than most places anyway.
Somehow I doubt that’s true. But if it is, it means y’all aren’t as free from State thought control as you think if your governments are using your biggest event as propaganda. Either that or this is exactly what Europeans want.
I think most people in Europe nowadays hate Israel, at least the younger ones.

Yes this should be obvious for anyone with even a slight political awareness, I honestly don’t know why Europe still has such a good rep for its “democratic” and “free” values when it’s trying really hard to remind us that’s not the case. Probably through the sheer force of propaganda, and the remainders of socialist concessions that haven’t yet been taken away like free healthcare etc.
