and ceasing all hostilities, including Israel’s operations in Lebanon

This is why I have doubts. Netanyahu needs his genocide to continue. He won’t stop killing unless the US stops supplying him and we know that won’t happen.

Israel will become isolated because they dragged the US into this war, weakening the country that they relied on.

No, the exact opposite: The EU should encourage the minority of Israelis unhappy with Netanyahu and co to resettle. An Israeli mini-exodus is already ongoing, and encouraging more of that would do more to hurt Israel than shutting Israelis out of most of the developed world. As a plus, an influx of liberal highly educated immigrants is always nice to have. That’s of course different from tourists, which absolutely should be banned from entering the EU

Eh, the current US government is as self centered (and also desparate) as it gets. They can just blame Israel for everything and force them to stop if they want to. And I think Iran has every intention to make them want to. What we’ve seen so far is only the beginning of inflation and shortages, it’s going to get way worse.

The Trump administration is practically unable to continue like this. They will lose the midterms and with them pretty much all initiative they have left. They have to make a deal. Either that or invasion. And invasion is ironically a political capitulation in this case, and incredibly costly in every sense as well
