USA’s military industrial complex has focused on high profit complex machines, with rare earth elements that came from China. The complexity doesn’t help with the churning. And China isn’t exporting the elements anymore. Who knew that starting a trade war would have consequences. Setting up replacements is going to limit production for a long time.
