Giving Trump all that glitters with a wide grin isn’t a bargaining chip for a city under siege. And what, exactly, did LA walk out of this meeting with? Nothing. Except for a neat little preview of the Bass administration’s posture as we head into our self-imposed megaevent purgatory.

Was reported as having a mismatched headline, in this case, OP swapped the headline for the sub-headline as it’s more descriptive.

I tend to agree… “She really didn’t need to do this” is not descriptive enough for people to click on it.

    Fortunately the subheadline is.

It’s customary to assure him that he doesn’t have a small penis, when giving the gift.

    Per South Park.

According to the article, there were over 3000 of those torches made, and they would be between $1200 and $10000 to acquire one. That is too expensive of a gift.

Everything else, you know, sometimes politicians have to shake hands and smile even though they’re greeting the most evil people. Sometimes they even have to present gifts to these people. But a $1200 gift from a mayor to the president is unacceptable in my opinion.

Most expensive gifts to the president are historically received as gifts to the country and not personally kept by the president. But I’m guessing Trump doesn’t hold himself to that standard.

Honestly the dude is easily swayed by bullshit gifts. If that’s all it takes to win favor then might as well play the game.
