Description: roadside memorial with a sign reading “IN MEMORY OF THOSE KILLED BY I.C.E.” alongside dozens of crosses.
Location: HWY 8 outside Elma, WA.
Photo taken from the passenger seat while traveling from the South Sound toward the coast. Considering Grays Harbor County voted Trump three out of three elections (although not overwhelmingly so), this was heartening to see. I don’t make it out this way too often, so I’m uncertain exactly when this was erected, but it was sometime in the last few months.
Roughly 46 by my count. I’ve seen less than 1/10th of that in the news I get from my feed, but goddamn does that drill it home harder than before that we need to imprison and publicly shame anyone that’s a part of ICE.
I’m inclined to recommend a far far harsher form of justice. 💀
I used to be a pacifist. Used to be
I don’t know why anyone downvoted you cause you’re not wrong.
I’d change the title to “Memorial to the victims of ICE”, otherwise you’re implying it’s a public urinal.
Good point, title altered accordingly
Are you not obviously the victim of the thing that killed you?
Originally it said “ICE memorial”.
Wait til you see the ’Leave Trump alone!’ Billboard someone put up near grand mound going north on I-5. I prefer to think it was put up ironically for a laugh
Is that the looney one with a picture of uncle Sam on it? That one is some old right-wing cranks personal billboard that has been there for decades.
Nope that one’s further south, and doesn’t have the crazy right wing stuff on it anymore. The rumor is that the folks that owned it died, but who knows.
Looked it up out of curiosity, the Chehalis tribe bought it , so that’s cool
Can’t like ICE without being a loser!
I’m curious if this includes those who died in the internment camps or if this is just those gunned down in the street.
