They are trying really, really hard to pretend they are happy to do that, but the fact that none of their smiles actually look happy could be considered evidence for a lack of happiness.

Popular means crowd.

Crowd can mean ego, arrogance, infighting, power seeking, side-taking.

I theorize that anybody who gets burned by an annoying or even sociopathic fan early in life could be at risk for this.

You’re already on Lemmy, that isn’t nothing. Open source things are more resilient against censorship and mass surveillance.

The conversations are not steered by an algorithm, and you’re helping that be more normal while in apartment!

The weakness of the individual people.

If we’re heeding instagram photos, we’re too far gone to be helped, until we rise to some baseline of sense. Nothing else can work until we can at least provide that.

Don’t need philosophy to not be a chump, but…yeah absolutely.

The more people say it here and there, and not at fever pitch, the more the whole thing weakens.

Eventually enough kids say “but why tho” and then it’s on the adults to double down making everything stupid again, or it changes.

Hard to say for you. For me, I guess I’d have to ask me.

I think if we didn’t unite when the air could cripple people, we aren’t uniting over anything external.

I actually don’t feel all that upset that I won’t be around for, like, a thousand years.
