Zee’s cancer is back. We knew it would be, it just sucks. He’s not eating hardly anything even with all the meds to help him feel better. It’s about time to say goodbye.

Thanks to all y’all who helped me keep him comfy for the time he had left. I really appreciate it. 💜

    I’m not sure if it’s mentally healthy to do, but when my kitty was nearing the end I made sure to get some recordings of her purring. I’m so sorry you have to go through this, but it sounds like Zee has had a life full of affection and happiness that you’ve provided for him. He knows you’ll do what’s best for him, and he feels your love. He will always be a happy boy!

      I think that’s a perfectly fine thing to do, unfortunately his purs are so stealth it’s hard to hear unless he’s right on top of your face, which he often is, but it would be difficult to get on a recording with just my phone mic. XD

    If Lemmy had a repost like twitter does with retweets, I would do that.

      I believe mastodon instance would need to federate both with the solarpunk server op is posting from and lemmy.world, and then you’d find the account that essentially is this community and mirrors activity from this comm as though theyre individual mastodon posts, and you’d need to find the right one and hit boost

      Maybe theres an easier way. You may be able to post to this comm from your mastodon account to establish the link

      I’d be curious if someone more knowlegable could chime in with a better understanding

    I feel your pain. I lost my ~2 year old cat to anemia about 15 years ago. She was the best cat I’ve ever had. She followed you around, slept with you and on you, and slept in paper boxes, brioche boxes, and so on. She slept in the weirdest positions imaginable. I’ve never found a cat like her, though I think I’ve seen parts of her in two cats I currently have. They have similar behavior, but nothing close to the original. I’m so sorry for your loss. I know it’s hard to lose someone you love like that.

    I’m broke, but I’d happily donate €100.

    While I feel we all go through loss of a loved one, pet or otherwise, it never gets easy. I lost two last year, one to cancer, who was also a void baby. I know Zee will get the care & love they deserve in those final moments, and they pitter-patter over the rainbow bridge carrying that with them. 🫶 🌈
