There’s a song that is sung at (I’m pretty sure) all schools in my country, a part of everyones childhood, that goes like this:

“Last night I dreamed, something I’ve never dreamed before. I dreamed there was peace on earth, and all wars were over. I dreamed of a giant hall, where townsmen sat in a row
Then they wrote on an envelope, and stood up and said: “There are no more soldiers, there are no rifles. And no one knows that word military anymore” On the streets, people walked around and went from pub to pub. And everyone drank each other, and danced and smiled.” (Those are translated from the Swedish lyrics, didn’t think of copying the original ones).

It’s originally an American peace song by Ed McCurdy, but the cover by Cornelis Vreeswijk has become ingrained in Swedish culture in a major way. I think of it often, and dream of a world where any of that is true.
