As the conflict with Iran expands and intensifies, President Trump’s options — to fight on, or to move toward declaring victory and pulling back — both carry deeply problematic consequences.

Despite Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth’s assertion that Iran’s success in threatening shipping traffic through the Strait of Hormuz was nothing to worry about, that vital waterway remains all but shut down, choking off a big chunk of global trade, especially in oil. By Saturday, Mr. Trump appealed on social media for China, France, Japan, South Korea and Britain to send naval forces to secure the strait, his first public acknowledgment that keeping the vital waterway open could require help and more resources than the United States has in the region now.

By Saturday, plumes of smoke were seen rising from a major oil trading port in the United Arab Emirates after a drone attack. To alleviate price hikes, the United States even suspended sanctions against some Russian oil sales. The U.S. Embassy in Iraq has been attacked twice in recent days.

Pull out of the Gulf, apologise and pay reparations for the illegal war of aggression and force AIPAC to register as a foreign agent.

Trump will do whatever benefits him personally in the short term.

If that means escalation then expect to see a mushroom cloud over Tehran, because the Iranians won’t give up.

He could also kill himself. Just saying.

      Consequences for who?

He’s going to push forward, fucking obviously because it’s making him and politicians invested in defense contractors obscenely richer.

I think I’m going to open a news outlet called “The New York Times, but honest this time.”

And I’m just going to repost their articles but I’m going to get rid of all the fuckery and write facts and use non weasel words that continuously empower the ultra rich.

They’re typically pretty creative and touch on a lot.

I mean I’m going to replicate every single article, but unbullshitted with them as my original source for the format and strikethrough their words, with other sources to establish fact. I honestly think this would be immensely profitable even if it were free, people are so fucking sick of this, I know I am.

How dare you contradict the Great Leader! He has said many times that it’s a War (the best war, nobody does wars like him)
