It seems that a country divided on many fronts is finding common ground at the gas pumps. There, the cost of the Iran war is hitting Americans squarely in the wallet and aggravating people across the political spectrum.

Standing alongside his son’s Ford pickup truck at a central Iowa gas station off Interstate 80, Francisco Castillo was not happy.

He had voted for President Donald Trump in the last election. He believed Trump had strengthened the economy in his first term, and he wanted more of that.

“I thought that he was going to bring some of those things back,” said Castillo, a 43-year-old factory worker. And now? “He said he was going to bring gas down, but the war in Iran is now making everything worse.”

It seems a country divided on so many fronts is finding common ground in pain at the pump, where the cost of the Iran war is hitting Americans squarely in the wallet and aggravating people across the political spectrum.

    Worth noting that Kamala Harris would have been in favor of this war with Iran as well. She was explicit about that in her campaign.

      Because that’s not what things looked like in 2024.

      Harris supported the 2015 Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action deal with Iran to rein in Tehran’s nuclear program. And she condemned a January 2020 military strike against top Iranian general Qassem Soleimani and co-sponsored unsuccessful legislation to block further military actions against Iranian leaders and targets.

      do you think she would have torn up and then try to reestablish and then go to war when she failed, the existing Iran nuclear deal?

      The agitators that told people not to vote for her bear accountability for Trump being in office and the consequences that result. Why do you feel like you need to create cover for them?
