Iceland’s government has said a vote on resuming accession talks with the EU will be held in August. Iceland withdrew from talks in 2013 — but rising costs, the war in Ukraine and US imperialism have prompted a rethink.

Referendums are democracy. You’re saying that democracy is a terrible idea because people are misinformed. That’s always been true. People are stupid and ignorant but it’s the best we’ve got.

If “the best we’ve got” gives us the meteoric rise of the extreme right, then it maybe isn’t as good as you think it is

I can’t point out problems with a system unless I can come up with an alternative?

I said it’s the best we’ve got. You implied it wasn’t (“maybe isn’t as good as you think it is”).

So you agree it’s the best we’ve got?

If we had something better you’d be able to list it. You clearly can’t so it is the best we have.

Guy uses Sponge Bob alternating case to complain about “reddit-brained tactics”.
