In an interview broadcast on Asharq News on 3 March, Adhwan al-Ahmari, the editor-in-chief of Independent Arabia and the president of the Saudi Journalists Association, said that “not all attacks” targeting Persian Gulf nations come from Iran, and stressed fears that the US–Israeli alliance wants to “trap” Gulf nations into joining the war.

“Some believe this war is an American-Israeli trap to implicate the Gulf countries and draw them into a confrontation with Iran,” Ahmari said. “This hypothesis, I think, increases every day.”

Two additional Iranian sources told MEE that Israel’s Mossad intelligence service may have launched some operations from within Iran, claiming authorities were searching for drone storage facilities allegedly used in the attacks.

Keep in mind that journalism in Saudi Arabia is tightly controlled by the government, so this is probably MBS whining because KSA might get drawn into the war he lobbied so intensely for.

I’m a bit confused with MBS lobbying for the Iran war. He seemed to start loosening his UAE coalition and bombing the UAE proxies in Yemen which indicated him possibly being more open to cooperating with non-US backed allies. But now there’s allegations that he was actually lobbying for a war with Iran which doesn’t seem to benefit him at all. Maybe Israel threatened him with some Epstein files.

Honestly if all those gulf monarchies and autocracies want to just slug it out with each other… I’d just as soon step back and not be involved. Unfortunately, our idiot fucking regime has us involved up to our eyeballs.

Where there is oil, your country will always be involved. It’s the blood of America and there’s no indication of fixing that. This is one of the nation’s many likely options for downfall.

The monarchies likely wouldn’t. No, this isn’t the US being involved.

… it’s the US and Israel being the cause. The Saudis are dragged in due to an alliance with Trump and a desire to participate in the imec trade corridor.
