It’s been obvious for some time that Americans are souring on Israel, but a Gallup poll that came out on Friday marks a turning point. For the first time in the poll’s 25-year history, it found, more Americans sympathize with the Palestinians than with the Israelis. The shift wasn’t just among Democrats, whose opinion of Israel has been in free fall in recent years. According to Gallup, only 30 percent of independents now sympathize with Israel; 41 percent sympathize with the Palestinians. Among adults under 35, support for Israel has fallen to a record low of 23 percent. With numbers like this, bipartisan backing for Israel, long a constant in American politics, will in time become unsustainable.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu of Israel famously prides himself on his ability to shape American policy. As he said in a secretly recorded 2001 conversation, “I know what America is. America is a thing you can move very easily, move it in the right direction.” Yet he has presided over an ongoing collapse in American Zionism and could eventually go down in history as the prime minister who lost Israel’s most important ally.

No. Palestine shouldn’t exist at this point. The people should be displaced to surrounding countries rather than killed, but Palestine cease to exist.

Literally a fucking crime against humanity…

    And obviously still genocide

The term “forcible transfer” describes the forced relocation of civilian populations as part of an organized offensive against that population. It is a crime against humanity punishable by the International Criminal Court (ICC). The fifth punishable act of genocide is the forcible transfer of children from one protected group to another. The definition was part of a draft provided by the UN Secretariat that was used as the foundation for the 1948-adopted Genocide Convention.

      So is genocide, pick one.

There isn’t a peaceful option remaining at this point. Anyone who thinks there is hasn’t been paying attention the last 80 years of history.

        Yes…

I’m aware genocide is genocide, just like genocide is…

What don’t you understand about the fact that you’re arguing for genocide?

Killing people, and displacing them are not the same. They may be both acts of “genocide” but they are not equally bad.

            So to be clear:

            1. You now understandstand that you were calling for an ongoing genocide, to genocide even more people.

            2. That has not changed your opinion, and you still want more genocide?

I want people to stop killing each other. If it means genocide (displacing people) to prevent more genocide (killing people) as a REALISTIC answer, then yes. That’s what I want to see happen.

Nobody else here giving any real answers other than wishful thinking.

Do you really believe, that if everyone stopped supporting Israel and they lost all basic ability to hurt anyone, all the groups that are attacking Israel are going to magically stop.

Do you actually think that’s what would happen?

If you do, I have a bridge to sell you.

If everyone within 50 miles of Israel just left and let Bibi have it, he’d say that they need to secure the new border and start attacking their new neighbors…

You’re finally admitting that you’ve been advocating to increase the number of people that Israel is committing genocide against, so maybe you’ll start to understand that this scenario has been happening since Israel was formed

Their borders grow and then they claim they’re gonna be attacked and have to attack first.

But for some reason you keep repeating that they’re always being attacked.

And you’re still arguing for genocide…

                    not offering a realistic alternative

Not supporting Israel so that Bibi actually has to hold an election again instead of constantly starting new rules…

You know hes facing a corruption trial that will put him in jail. And his excuse to not hold elections is all the wars/genocides he keeps taking?

                    Like, that’s 100% an option…

We can at the least not help them do it.
