Let’s be real: most people don’t help others in need even when they are able to. People who donate to St Jude Children’s Research Hospital or volunteer with homeless people do so for performative reasons or to just look good in front of someone; in the end, they are doing so for their own self-interest.
I don’t talk to people about my charity because I don’t care what other people think of it. I imagine there are a lot more people out there like me than you realize.
Man, you are just absolutely speedrunning a greatest hits of the worst takes on every subject you can think of, aren’t you?
It would be impressive if it wasn’t performative and pretty sad.
You travel in the wrong circles, my friend.
I already told you, yes, you’re right, everything you say is correct, any thought you may have is the truth, you really don’t need to seek any futher confirmation.
What you need to do is come out of the shower. Look at your skin, it’s nothing but wrinkles. Please. Your mother is sick with worry. We miss you.
We’re not fucking him so he doesn’t care about us
Just because you’re a sociopath who can’t imagine doing right because it’s the right thing to do, doesn’t mean everyone else is like that
Just wait until you discover I can have multiple and even contradictory reasons for doing any single action. It’s really gonna blow you away
Not a showerthought either, go to casual conversation or unpopular opinions my dude
Are you just here to spam ayn rand takes on everything?
Go read the Republic by Plato, or go watch some lectures about it.
Bad bot
Omg you’re like the personification of Satan’s whispers, lol. You don’t feel like being a decent human being, helpful and selfless when possible, is your duty? Also, what the fuck are you talking about regarding volunteering? All the people I know who have are actually lovely folks, usually religious (not American “religious”) but even when not, they were kindhearted and selfless.
But this is the crux of the issue: you’re a dummy. The human being is selfish and does everything for their own benefit. The difference is in the values and method. I try to be a decent human being because I cannot sleep at night if I think I’ve been acting like a cunt (and that God would hate me for what I’ve done with my free will, and rightly so, ofc). I AM being righteous for my own wellbeing, but not because of optics because I’m not vain and stupid. Others, like Western imperialists for example, also act in their own interests and will murder and pillage because they don’t value righteousness but hedonism and power. It’s up to you to decide what direction you take your selfishness in (and we will all be held accountable for it even if you don’t do it today for yourself).
Here’s a showerthought: everyone complaining about Grimreaper has the option to block them and never see their posts, but they don’t do that because Grimreaper entertains them. Thus proving Grimreaper’s point, that people put their self interests first.
I’ll be completely honest: I don’t agree with what Grimreaper says, but I don’t block them because they don’t reduce my enjoyment of this site/community. I don’t require an echo chamber to function.
My self-interest here, in the interests of transparency, is just passing time. You are free to believe I’m lying when I say that, or that I generally do not lie (it requires more effort than I care to give).

Fucking Thank you!!! LMAO These people could just block me.
You are kind of right but your focus is way too narrow and short-sighted. The better off people around me are, the better off I am. Society is what brings me the comforts and freedoms I have today. Without society I would likely be some peasant living in a hut and trying to farm some desolate piece of land until I died at a very early age.
By donating to medical research, I am able to improve medical care for all, and that includes myself. By donating to the arts I get to see art that I would have never been able to see otherwise. By donating to the poor and things like education, I reduce crime and violence where I live.
So yeah, basically everything you do is self-serving, just try not to be such a basic bitch about the scope of your actions.
