President Donald Trump just made it clear that he already has his eyes set on a new target following the US’s capture of the president of Venezuela. During a press conference on Saturday, he urged Colombian President Gustavo Petro to ‘watch his ass.’ The threat marks a dramatic escalation in tensions across Latin America, with Trump openly invoking the Monroe Doctrine to assert US dominance in the Western Hemisphere.
I think most every president since FDR was ass. I also know letting the window shift further right isnt going to help. We should be making the furthest right candidate lose by tons each and every election just like the right shows out and keeps making that Overton window shift right.
It shifts right because people keep making excuses for corporate Democrats who don’t stand for anything. They keep propping up the system that got us here. If you consider yourself on the left, then vote left where the progressives were at. Don’t vote right of center & complain that it keeps shifting to the right. Don’t just scream about Republicans when genocide the proud Zionist Joe & drone-strike Obama were killing children. All it does is signal to everyone you’re a hypocrite, and that is how you end up with Trump.
Yet we are currently living through what happens when you do that. While both options suck, I’m not going to contribute to accelerating a genocide and allowing for multiple new warfronts to open up. I’m rather vote for not having camps like alligator Alcatraz opening up.
I vote as far left as possible in primaries and the general but we’re actively seeing what not voting against fascism gets you: fucking fascism. Has not voting against fascism stopped the bullshit DNC push of fucking Newsom? No. So non voters allowing fascism isnt exactly helping the cause.
