    We consider it inpolite to talk world politics with friends here. That’s news stuff, not person stuff.

          Curious! Since politics is such an important part of your life, if not the most important, how do you reason for not discussing it? I mean, if you let the news define your opinions?

            Well ok. We do talk about it but you’re close then. And idle. Similiar to talk about the weather but with more conflict potential.

            Maybe because we have a lot of cultures and lifestyles in a close space. There would be no end to conflicts if not for the, uh, “good swiss compromise” (gut-schweizerischer Kompromiss).

              Oh okay. So no deeper discussions unless you’re like family? Interesting, we also like to compromise and avoid conflicts, but politics are not generally avoided (some do of course) even at work.
