I used to be chronically early to everything because I would set aside like an hour for a 15 minute drive and wonder why I had no time to do anything during the day. Now I’m a bit better at timing appointments and things just right, but I’m usually about 5 minutes late rather than 45 minutes early to things. Typically nobody cares if you are a little late, shit happens.
Something I’ve tried to do is figure out a safe departure time rationally, then set a timer for 15 minutes before. Knowinf that I don’t have to remember or think or judge whetjer its getting late has been really helpful for escaping that endless clock-checking stress.
Same.
Then I scramble to find my wallet and keys and show up late anyway.
You didn’t ask for advice, but put those with the timer or in your pockets when setting the timer.
I have a routine (keys in/on pants, wallet in hoodie) so I usually know where they are. Sometimes when I change clothes they end up elsewhere and stop existing.
Remembering to check them before my pre-appointment slacking ritual would be good to do though lol.
It’s not that I think there’s no time between 10am and 2pm. It’s that if I start something, I either might lose all track of time doing it and be late, or be in the middle of doing something at 2pm, acknowledge that I need to go, and literally can’t stand leaving it half done… or both. So better not to risk it and just zone out on my phone instead, lose track of time and be unable to put it down at 2pm.
I’m in this picture and I don’t like it.
Mines so similar…
“10 oclock is close to 1030 which is basically 1045 which i when chipotle opens which means its almost lunch time so i really shouldnt start a new task until after lunch oh shit its 1 oclock.”
asking Xeno for the time.
