    We need harsher laws against frivolous lawsuits. Justice delayed is justice denied and to let the rich take over the justice system necessarily denies justice to anyone else. Eating up the courts time as well as the defendents time and money despite no wrongdoing must be punished.

      Some states already have anti-SLAPP laws.

      In the UK, if a civil case is brought that’s found to be without merit, the judge can make the losing plaintiff pay the defendant’s legal costs. Libel and defamation law is still biased in favor of those with deep pockets, though.

      That’s why it’s good they’re owned by an independent foundation and not shareholders looking to win merger approval to expand a media empire
