Democrats say that’s a nonstarter, arguing there are already limits on abortion access. The dispute could torpedo a deal, leading to higher health insurance premiums for millions.

Senate Republicans say they’re open to extending a pot of Affordable Care Act funds that will expire at the end of the year — but only if Democrats acquiesce to stricter abortion restrictions on insurance plans.

The demand presents a significant hurdle to reaching a bipartisan deal to extend ACA funding designed to avoid major premium hikes next year for more than 20 million Americans, as Democrats are adamant that existing abortion guardrails under Obamacare are sufficient.

If the funds are not extended by the end of the year, some people insured under Obamacare could see their bills rise by thousands of dollars per month, raising concerns that millions will choose to go uninsured.

Let the health care system implode under the weight. Stop giving the fascists what they want.

I think that is what they want though? Health care imploding sounds like a fast track to a full-blown depression, which means Peter Thiel and his buddies can buy up land for cheap. Their stated goal is to form their own corporate city-states. Like ye olde company towns, but with more surveillance and less rights.

I agree with you. I dunno, but it seems that the average American, especially in red states, need to experience more misery before they turn on the fascist GOP.

I’m not sure they will. The rightwing propaganda machine will blame it on Democrats/immigrants/trans people somehow.

I agree. These dumbasses are even still parroting lines from the Confederates about how they inherited the worst economy ever from Biden which is just bullshit. But many of them are even still buying nonsense from the GOP about the economy and they sure as hell will buy it about health care, too.
