      Adderall is a weird combination drug, similar maybe, but not an equivalent.

        I’ve had both adderall and vyvanse. The vyvanse is an extended release and also a “prodrug,” meaning it is inactive until metabolized in the body, where it is converted into the active stimulant dextroamphetamine. So it’s more of a slow drip over the day. Adderall on the other hand is a pretty quick hit of dextroamphetamine. Me personally, I do better with the quick hit. I feel instantly more productive and then it fades over time. Sometimes I’ll take another right after lunch if I have a lot to do.

      Similar, not exactly the same. Which works better differs per individual.

      Methylphenidate has similar effects through different function.
