Former US Vice-President Kamala Harris has expressed concern that she did not ask Joe Biden to pull out of the race for the White House.

In an interview with the BBC for Sunday with Laura Kuenssberg, she said: “I do reflect on whether I should have had a conversation with him, urging him not to run for re-election.”

After months of speculation about his health and mental acuity, President Biden ended his re-election bid in July 2024 after a disastrous performance in a debate against Donald Trump a few weeks earlier.

Harris, who stepped in as the Democratic nominee but lost to Trump, has revealed in her book about her three-month campaign that she did not discuss with President Biden her concerns over his ability. Nor did the then 81-year-old raise the issue with her.

Every time this chick talks its just grating. You fumbled the most important election we’ve had in our lifetimes by parading Republicans. Dont speculate, dont get with us, shut up and fund some sort of resistance to the dictator you helped get elected.

It feels like she blames everyone else but herself. Sure, maybe Biden shouldn’t have run, but goddamn, you’re the one who hesitated about it. Would’ve loved her to be president, especially compared to what we have now… but I also wonder if she would’ve taken this. “It’s everyone else’s fault!” Attitude into office.

        • It’s not my fault I told protestors to shut up!
        • It’s not my fault I took weeks to get a platform onto my website!
        • It’s not my fault I didn’t want to distance from an unpopular president!
        • It’s not my fault that people told me that courting Republicans alienates our Democratic voter base, and Republicans would never vote for a Democrat, let alone a brown woman!

I was the chosen candidate by the DNC, I know what the public wants! And it’s not my fault I didn’t like what internal polling told me!
