Well, afaik cats don’t do this as much and/or it’s less pronounced (bcs of how the immediate expression looks like & that, from human pov, they are a bit autistic).
I’ve seen more often cats do the threatening approach but then just sniff & pass by after a few seconds.
And yeah, I searched for those gifs bcs the doors in the posts comic reminded me more of dogs barrier aggression/frustration.
These gifs makes me think they are self aware and they just want to have fun, cause you know, barking across a safe barrier is fun.
