… and there are more, with Loops being “TikTok” and Pixelfed being “Instagram”.
They can all see the same content, but presented in ways that emphasize their unique aspects. That’s what people call “Fediverse” but it’s much simpler to just think of them as separate apps and ignore that technically true but confusing aspect.
Yeah I’m more thinking about the four wheel drive Gen 4.

This is very true - I usually refer to it as “BOFH behavior”. I think it stems from many people who end up hosting or moderating feeling that they themselves have been marginalised before so “now they’re going to show them!”.
A great example is a Mastodon instance where if you don’t agree with the site’s admin they’ll block you at the server level instead of from their personal account. The belief is that if they have an opinion that opinion must then be enforced for everyone else under their control too.
… yeah. That’ll pay the salaries for these excellent open source developers, allowing them to work on something that brings benefit to Linux usage in secure environment.

If you mean the apps you run on the servers, many can use an OAUTH server that you then host for SSO.
These low frequencies have no problems penetrating a roof - I get 30+ km range - but my house is one of the taller ones and the land is almost completely flat around here. You’re right though that 4ft of brick walls would dampen the signal a lot.
I sort of did the same, but without the weatherproofing and solar powered. I have a Heltec v3 up in the attic which I can interface with both via bluetooth as well as connect to via wifi.
Context: Centerpartiet (“The Centre party”) has been rather uniquely targeted by the troll factories (russian / right-wing) here in Sweden since they’re the only non-left party in our parliament saying NO to cooperating/ruling together with our fascist party (“Sverigedemokraterna”). They’re the good economic-right without the authoritarianism and white power stuff.
And yes, it seems the level of hatred was a lot higher for the last woman party leader (Lööf) and now Hatt. In between them there was a male for a while who was mostly anonymous.
