I feel like this article took a quick turn from “Bing went down” to “Google bad”.
I am glad more people realize who’s actually behind DDG and such.

Most jobs include a 30-60 minute paid lunch break, making 9-5 completely plausible.
How about enforcing the existing laws?
Russian trolls are alive and well on lemmy
I live in Minneapolis bud. You will be actively shouted down for even mentioning that you considered reporting a crime because “the police might shoot them”. Additionally, all property crimes here must now be reported to 311 (not the police) which is purely to get you a case number for insurance. They don’t pursue them.
As for GDP, yeah man, urban areas are blue. It’s not because they’re better, it’s because poor people congregate there for public services.
Crime stats depend on people reporting crimes. Something that is actively discouraged in blue states. You don’t need a six figure salary when the cost of living is low. California has the 5th highest infant mortality rate in th country. Not everyone needs to pay a few years wages to a paper mill for a diploma they’ll never use in their trade. California, Texas, New York and Florida have the four largest economies in the US. This hardly follows party lines.

This sounds a lot more like “Elon thinks the HR dept is a waste of money” than “Elon hates immigrants”.
I think it was the left telling social media what they should and shouldn’t redact… everything from COVID scepticism to Hunter Bidens laptop.
it’s their country. It’s not like these laws are secret, these people are hoping to make a large reward from a large risk.
I see this like I see people buying cheap homes next to the airport and complaining about the noise. Or buying a really nice house in a HOA and then complaining about the fees.
If you don’t like it, leave. But that’s how those people are choosing to live.
It’s called a proxy war. You can’t cherry pick which ones you’re OK with.
Lemmy has downvotes, but some specific instances (servers) do not allow them.
Or you sit in the library and “read” it. Now how do you define where the library is? Many libraries loan out digital copies. You can sit in a book store (they exist!) and read a book without purchasing it too.
It’s going to be difficult to use the “they couldn’t possibly have had legit access to all these books” argument in court.
We’re all influenced by the things we’ve experienced. Unless it quoting things verbatim as its own content then I don’t see the issue.
The most recent Battlestar Galactica touches on this, particularly in the miniseries finale.
it’s ok, those chemicals are from nature!

TeamViewer sold out long ago, formed a new company (AnyDeak), fooled us all, sold out again, and there’s still people trying to use the same business plan.
There’s zero money being spent on security, this is pure profit extraction.
