But… Someone tried actually resisting and now we’re all hand wringing over it…
I see this on signs outside sometimes. I always wonder where the fuck they think the line will be though… The people who believe this shit generally live in the middle of nowhere and all the cities are deep blue so there isn’t a red state/blue state divide, it’s basically the network city state thing the yarvinists want but even that makes no sense because there aren’t really any red cities to form around
I’m gonna go work on my encrypted VHF/UHF mode then maybe DF some [censored] HTs
…sure?
This kid doesn’t know what he’s writing or why, he’s just coaxing cursor to vomit up commits and apparently that’s their only metric for success.
I work with AI tools and with people who are absolute top tier Cursor users and their shit is always broken. They iterate fast but they absolutely do not fully understand what they’re producing. It’s great for rolling out flashy UI quickly (apparently the only thing investors care about), then you watch it all go to shit the second you push because every update breaks everything in horrifying ways. It’s like watching the early days of enterprise C++/Java where everything was spaghetti, but 100x worse.
I don’t think this paradigm of AI is likely to rival a decent human developer, there needs to be a fundamental change in how the models work and how we use them. What were doing now is hoping quantity is somehow going to replace quality.
I’ve tried helping some spicy leftist groups and I’m still floored by how little the groups of people care who should absolutely know better. They will talk a big game but when it actually comes to implementation everyone immediately goes all “nothing to hide” like their years of constant guillotine reacts and memes won’t be pulled out in court the second they try to argue entrapment against some bullshit ci/undercover op.
I don’t think many people realize how aggressive a digital search warrant can get if you or someone dumber than you fucks around and finds that main character energy. At the end of the day you gotta absolutely minimize the amount of data that’s retained long term on systems.
I’ve never seen a screaming flying robot do anything but make people completely irate

Yeah the article is just rehashing a wapo article that’s linked, the original one is much clearer
The problem is there’s a very real risk the American people will view the move as illegitimate and prevent the land from being taken in the future, ie under a new admin that jails trump or something. The point of collateral is to reduce risks, not introduce new and exciting ones. Nobody is going to accept lower rates on this unless the aforementioned quid pro quo is real, in which case the deal is already illegal and the downside risks now include prison.
Yes this is idealistic, but the threat is still real and that’s how finance people calculate interest.

Tldw: last week Dev postulated this would be the first attempt to probe the courts because trans inmates are probably the least publicly visible group available for such an attack.
Blue marble is essentially an open source Google Earth desktop application. Idk if it’s exactly what you want but it’s not terrible.
OsmAnd is the same thing for Android and iOS and it’s absolutely wonderful.

Law is a human construct, it is essentially a consensus structure. You can hold up a piece of paper that says “I can do what I want” and maybe it’s even legitimate, but you still need to convince other people of that and our legal structure/precedent puts more emphasis on process than being efficient or fast.
In effect, the law has stopped trump from doing just about everything he wants to sans a few items. Every time he tries to do something he has to fight a bunch of people and that takes up some of his finite time and resources.
Just because he has friends in all the high places doesn’t mean everyone else will just jump into line and do exactly what he wants, the more people obstruct the less damage he can do.
I mean, he’s done a good enough job and I’d take him over literally anyone trump wants to appoint.
I’d argue he is. Politics and law aren’t deterministic, the rules are flexible and determined by how people interpret them. If it was actually a non issue he wouldn’t bother saying anything. He’s posturing and trying to make a case so that the admin is less likely to start that fight. Everyone has limited time and resources so making it seem like fucking with the Fed would take a lot of both lowers the odds they try.
Broadly, because the only way to get it was from other humans. Specifically, because a lot of other humans essentially went out of their way to give it to other people.
I hate that it needs to be said but love that they said it so plainly
Because it’s a prisoners dilemma. They don’t have the money to suddenly buy a billion Teslas and trillion solar panels so either they burn the coal they have because everyone else is too, or they just give up trying to become an advanced economy while everyone else keeps polluting.
In either case tens of millions of people die on the subcontinent, but in one of them at least they get to improve their economy.
I think most people who have it figure this out pretty quickly. NT normies feel like they accept the world completely at face value by comparison and it can cause a lot of friction
