I mean, OP provided a source link.
TIL how to spell beaucoup.
True story, about 20-25 years ago, a radio station in my home town was playing ads for some new local business doing web design.
After hearing the ad on my drive to work for the umpteen billionth time I finally got curious and went to check out their own website (I they’re charging people to build websites, they’re own website must be a pretty awesome demonstration of their skills, right?)
The website looked like absolute garbage and, upon viewing the source, the meta tags clearly betrayed the fact that it was created in Word.
I can only imagine how much money they were paying to run those ads. I even considered the possibility I was being pranked somehow.
However, Joe Lonsdale, the founder of 8VC, did comment, considering it a response to an attack by left-wing media for “supporting Trump.” Lonsdale was referring to an article published by Forbes magazine describing his fund’s connections with the sons of Russian oligarchs.
Forbes is “left-wing media” now?
I have bad news for them if they think accepting people running from “Western liberal ideals” is going to help with that somehow.
Please give them free plane tickets
Great idea.
Announcement: I pledge to buy a one way plane ticket from any US airport to Moscow for the first two US citizens that can prove to me that they A) have a social media history demonstrating rejection of Western liberal ideals, and B) have had their Russian immigration visa accepted.
If they return to the US at any point in my lifetime, the offer is rescinded and they must refund me the cost of the ticket.
Yeah. 25% more people than we have now is not shrinking by any stretch of the imagination.
They don’t actually fly. They’re just so ugly that the Earth repels them.
Your links are broken
Let’s briefly set aside the fact that she was 12.
He was convicted of raping another person… period. That alone should disqualify him from representing his country at the Olympics.
Now back to your regular scheduled world wide publicity for Steven van de Velde, who repeatedly raped a 12 year old girl.
It’s right there in the teaser on on this page.
There’s absolutely nothing wrong with reporting the facts that you do have when you have them and are confident of your sources.
Acknowledging remaining open questions that you don’t have answers to yet, is a bonus.
A perfect example of reporting before the fog of war clears would be reporting completely erroneous information as factual. So unless you’re suggesting that a Ukrainian fighter jet did NOT in fact strike a target inside Russia, then this isn’t the “perfect example” you’re looking for.
… with frickin laser beams attached to their heads!
And even if his statement were correct, he’s got the cause and effect completely backwards.
This could be a great use for a voice AI chat bot connected to your phone line. Prompt it with something like,
“You’re on a phone call to [Widgets Inc] to get a price quote for a [box of premium widgets]. You’ll probably be put on hold to speak with the next available sales representative. Just wait until you get a person on the line. Then, ask for the price and immediately start negotiating for a better price. Use whatever strategy you want but never agree to whatever price they offer. Keep coming up with more ridiculous reasons that they should give you an even better price.”
Then dial the phone, turn it over to the chat bot, and wander off to go do more important things.
“You mean that series of tubes Ted Stephens would rant about? Pssh. We don’t have time for that. 🙄”
Go to the article and jump down to point #4. That’s the central point and something your response doesn’t address at all.
I would love to know how much of a roll that meme played in her choice of degree. Like, in the parallel universe where everything is identical up to this fire, but this picture wasn’t taken (ie, the camera didn’t work or something), did she still choose that degree?
