How about a “convenience fee” for making an online payment. Why should I pay a fee to make the transaction more convenient for the company who no longer has to pay an employee to take the payment in person?

I wish.
Definitely, because poor people don’t watch the news and can’t read.
Can’t serve as many ads on the website because of ad blockers tho.
Thanks for the tip. I like avocados as well.
I love riding my bike on the weekends and if my commute wasn’t 1.5 hours each way, I’d go to the gym pretty often.
I read this as olive oil and meat. LOL. Yum, steak!
You can’t just make up your own lingo and expect everyone else to know what you’re talking about.
That’s not what I want to see.
That’s a good question, but I’m not sure I’d wanna do that.

From personal use, I can tell you that the featureset is just not there. You can’t even sort by followed accounts only, or get chronological updates. It’s a hot turd sandwich.
As much as I dislike Meta, the idea that you’d have to pay to present a link to a news article is idiocy. Let the news sites see how their traffic goes without those links.
That’s an exercise in futility. If Lemmy takes off like Mastodon/Pleroma/Misskey/etc then you would spend your time trying to create accounts on hundreds of Lemmys, some of which will be private or invite only meaning you can’t. Plus, anyone on Mastodon etc. can comment on Lemmy posts. It’s not a task you can complete.
There are fewer ultra rich that need killing though, so it should be easier and quicker this time around, right?
Nobody wants to be underpaid anymore.
