None of these demands are remotely acceptable to European leaders, either. Donbas is the part the headlines focus on, but the security guarantees sought by Russia are more egregious, given they would leave Ukraine totally defenseless.

🤷 No idea. Sounds like you should do a research piece about it!
Afaik, it’s traditional to Central American (and maybe South American?) cuisine, but I don’t know any science-y aspects to it’s use. You make salsas and guac directly in it, and I can say they do hit different, but I can’t say exactly why.
Interesting thanks for chiming in. I’ve only ever had a molcajete.
This is not the case for modern detergents, but is held over from when soaps were all made from lye. The polymerized layers of oil that you have will stay mostly in tact with some dish detergent and a light scrub sponge. After washing and drying mine off with a towel, I apply some oil and heat it on the stove for a few minutes to maintain the seasoning.
But absolutely mortar and pestle should never ever get soap, particularly something like a molcajete made from volcanic rock. I just wipe mine really thoroughly with a clean, damp cloth.
Edit: SMFH don’t mass down vote someone for having inaccurate information. Had they not commented, they wouldn’t have opened themselves up to the opportunity to learn something.
Jake Hanrahan, from Popular Front, recently made a documentary about favelas with footage and interviews from a number of gang members. It’s part of a project called Away Days and there is also a podcast of the same name.
Roughly 1M anecdotes in the comments already
So very heartwarming the ethnic cleansing has been for Armenians from Nagorno-Karabakh, and the Western hegemonic powers happily letting it go on to keep Azeri oil flowing cheaply.
Yes, it’s a relief that the war is ending, but do not construe this as some fairy-tale ending.
It’s an extraordinarily racist and ignorant posture to take. African American Vernacular English is a widely known dialect at this point and is really interesting to learn about.
Is ignoring robots.txt considered “honest”?
Interesting that you frame a parent losing their child in a tragic accident as “getting off scot free”. There’s a huge difference between a mistake and being criminally negligent. Clearly our opinions differ in this, and I find yours ghoulish.
That’s not the point, pixeldick
Cars have always been fucking death machines since their adoption, killing pedestrians at especially high rates. Since their introduction, this has always pissed people off with any real common sense.
We give up our streets entirely to them, put up with infrastructure increasingly hostile towards foot and cycle travel, scarcely enforce traffic laws, and treat driving like it’s a constitutional right.
We are long overdue for reworking our approach to transportation. Instead we’re stuck with incompetent lawmakers who are corrupted by industry bribes, and propped up by dipshits like you with your heads jammed up your asses.
Who said this movie is bad? That’s the hill on which there is dying.
It was a commercial flop until it started airing on cable, though. Weird, I know. I remember seeing in the theater and all of my friends.
Interesting little video essay about it: https://youtu.be/QjlHwoqy_90
Humanity may achieve an annoyance singularity within six months
Yeah let the Harvard alums cover the 3b. If it’s anything like all the other land grant universities in the country, they are just using it to build swanky dorms.
just do the same for:
And in a couple of decades, you can undo everything your parents worked for, pull the ladder up behind you, and leave your children a dystopian hellscape!
Yeah no shit, they fucking ass. I still voted for Harris with puke in my mouth, though. For me to back another Dem for president in the future, it needs to be someone I want to vote for. Otherwise, I’m voting for whatever candidate aligns most closely with my values.
I think we agree on the broad points, I just don’t think that the Harris campaign position on genocide was a big enough factor to swing the election either way. I believe all of their policy positions were calculated to protect party funding streams as much or more than winning the election.
The problems with Dems are so systemic, that it reaches far beyond that single campaign. How many congressional seats did they also lose? How many state legislatures are Republican super majority?
I’m not very clever on solutions, but involvement in local politics is where it starts. This is where I honestly think we are truly well fucked, though. People are too fucking busy and scraping by to get involved. Even though the people doing it for the Democrats are super old and burned out in most cases, they want young people to get more involved and will appoint them to positions and run them for councils and shit.
That’s what the right did. Grass roots shit, school boards, party committee headquarters, etc. I just assume someone else who is smarter, more qualified, and motivated is taking care of that shit, but that’s probably not the case.
You’re correct, the ICC’s jurisdiction has never been recognized by the US, or a bunch of other countries for that matter. They could still prosecute individuals and convict them, but the US wouldn’t hand them over, and it’s not likely that anyone would attempt to come get them.
There is a pretty large number of ICC fugatives from all over the world, notably Russian and Israeli officials. Afaik, France and the UK are the only two UN members with veto power that recognize the ICC’s official jurisdiction.
