  • Let’s be real. Do you think someone who uses an iphone will have the ability to buy a compact hot swappable computer, buy and install hard drives, download and burn a bootable partition on a USB stick, navigate terminal to install an Linux Nas distro, then setup DDNS and setup SSL and then setup their iphone?

I know how and have done this before and I still bought a Synology box. You don’t know how many times I had to migrate my data when a FOSS becomes abandonware. There is a certain comfort knowing that your shit isn’t going to be abandon.

Commercial software doesn’t mean it’s bad. Pfsense is a commercial software and it’s amazing. I buy their routing solutions.

  • I don’t need anything. Nobody needs anything except for water, food and shelter. But hear me out.

My last vehicle was purchased in 1999. It is a small 2 seater coupe with 2 tiny tiny seats in the back. I have replaced the engine 2 times and transmission once. Parts are now getting hard to come by and my family needs are growing. We like camping and each time we rent a vehicle. We are constantly trying to figure out how to move our things in my tiny car. It’s a chore to drive a small car with a family.

It’s 24 years and I feel like I have already done my part in reducing my carbon footprint.

So when looking for my next vehicle, I wanted a bigger vehicle to go camping and carry equipment to my kids practice.

I want reverse charging for my home, so my options are limited. Ford F150 and Cybertruck. Another selling point for the Cybertruck is that it’s bulletproof against handguns. That’s kinda nice knowing that if someone started shooting into my vehicle, we might survive.

  • I’m in Taiwan and I’m just a single voice. Lai isn’t wrong. Our republic is longer, but early Taiwan was pretty shitty. They continued that shittiness the nationalist was doing back in the mainland up until the 90s when we had our first Democratic elections.

Today’s Taiwan was nothing like the nationalist that proceeds it. We are actively taking down our old monuments of our forefathers because it was truly a bad time in our history.

Today’s Taiwan is freaking amazing. An active government that cares about the people. Policing is done by people in the community. A school system that cares about each student and their well being. A high tax on big businesses and a low entry barrier for small businesses.

I had a school counselor come to my door because I was not picking up random phone calls. She brought cookies and school stationery and wanted to make sure my son was ready for grade school.

I invite anyone to come visit and experience Taiwan on their own.
