That’s not a sofa—not in the way we think of sofas now. This is a 3-person chair. It’s not for lounging, like a modern sofa, it’s for sitting.
Gorgeous. Thank you.
Where is that quote from? I didn’t see it in the link above
I see it now. It was right at the top and a quote from the Nazi
Hell, there’s way too many “full stack” developers that don’t even know how domains work.
The vast majority of those are useless animations. Some are even a much worse implementation of something done much simpler with JS and requires significantly more code weighing down the page speed. Some examples of this are the cursor tracking examples which use hundreds of divs in a grid.
While there are some useful examples, it seems like this repo is more of a list of to show off advanced CSS, fancy animations, and designs.
You need to get yourself an ad blocker.
Here’s an alternative frontend:

It seems his shoe just simply caught the lip of the stairs. I think it’s most likely caused by wearing shoes too big for his feet, since it would hurt his ego to have smaller feet.
I pity that you need to try to insult others in order to feel good about yourself. Hope that works out for you.

Since the post is on the [email protected] community, it cannot be blocked using the blocking features available. Unfortunately, Lemmy does not have any feature that would allow blocking this, which is exactly what I am lamenting in my comment.
The classic “I know you are but what am I?” technique. The true hallmark of a sophisticated argument.
I just said I wish I could block it. My “visceral reaction” has only been to your unhelpful “suggestions.”
No, Lemmy does not have the available tools to accommodate. Blocking an instance would not prevent this sort of thing since it was posted to this community.
You’re not helping and just being antagonistic, whether or not that is your intent. Thanks for the link to the instances page, though it’s not helpful for this situation it’s still nice to know it’s available.
Oh wow. That’s useful. Thanks for that. I had no idea that page existed. I’ve looked for this before and even looked again before my last comment. Where is that even found? Lemmy can be frustrating.
Why are you so hostile?
Because your suggestions are rude and that seems intentional.
Your suggestions require a preposterous amount of effort for something that is best solved by letting the user block this kind of content, like being able to block domains or content federated from certain platforms. Even with this useful page, having to pour through the giant list for every possible instance to maybe find one that doesn’t federate from those platforms, but then who knows what else I’d be sacrificing for that one thing. That’s not a useful suggestion by any stretch. Suggesting running an instance is also a ridiculous answer as a solution that requires a significant amount of time, some extra resources, and then a continuous amount of time for maintenance.
You’re not far off from just saying “Just don’t use the internet. Problem solved!” Do you see why making suggestions that are ridiculous to ‘solve’ a proportionally smaller problem is rude?
Where do I find this list of what instances are federated? That doesn’t exist? Oh well that’s not useful is it?*
Requiring someone to sift through each instance in the hopes of finding one that happens to not federate with these kinds of platforms is an unreasonable suggestion.†
Run my own instance? Fuck off with that. I don’t have the time.
Your ‘solutions’ are not real solutions. It’s a cop-out of accepting the fact this is a limitation of Lemmy and the federation system that all these are based on.
*edit: This does exist, apparently. Though I have no idea where a person is supposed to find that page on their own. I’ve looked for this before multiple times.
†Added point after being shown the list exists.
At the expense of this kind of garbage? Then no.
I’d be happy with being able to choose to opt out, or ideally opt in.
I don’t like being forced into a platform that I don’t want to use. I don’t use Instagram, Tumblr, etc. for a reason.
I’m aware. Still fucking hate it. I hate Instagram, too.
At least they’re probably thinking you’re just out hunting.
