This is the thumbnail generation functionality, that would create a local thumbnail for all image posts and keep them around forever. You can disable this by setting image_mode to None in lemmy.hjson and you’ll only store what users actively upload.

It would be more out of character for Starmer to keep his word.

Note, this is ICO not Ofcom, so it’s to do with data collection on minors and not the Online Safety Act.

“I trust the admin here and don’t know about the admin there” is honestly fair. I can see where you’re coming from now, it was just a bit ambiguous.
But yes your name is a bit confusing as well!
Technically, we came first, so it’s the Jerries that are the copycats! (We technically got it from feddit.de, but I didn’t choose the name so my hands are clean)

Nazi bar is certainly a new one. I honestly don’t even know what we’ve done to deserve the accusation, I think we’re being confused with .org here.
I don’t mind if people want nothing to do with us, but I’d appreciate it if it was for stuff we did. Like, I don’t think I can credibly be called a Zionist. Someone once nuked their whole instance because I pushed back on the whole criticising Israel = antisemitism thing!

They’re a low effort content mill, they’ll post whatever drives traffic to their website.

Lossless encoding, by definition, won’t have any quality loss.

The posting of webps will continue until support improves.

This depends, if your image contains a lot of flat colours (like a screenshot of a website) then PNG can actually give you smaller file sizes than lossless webp. But for most images (especially ones with compression artefacts) lossless webp gives smaller sizes.

It’s probably playing off the toppling of the govt in Bangladesh that I’ve seen called the ‘Gen-Z Revolution’.

Unless I’m missing something in the code I linked, they’re not. All that action does is merge one community into another on the local database, nothing federates.

As for why Piefed and not Lemmy, it’s because Piefed communities are portable. That is, if the admin proves to be awful or a server threatens to shut down, you can just move the community elsewhere.
Are they? The only thing I’ve heard about this is Piefed’s community move admin action, which is just a simple db rewrite only on the local instance.

I didn’t say if God changed though, I said if God changed what they willed. From some quick Googling (I haven’t actually read the bible), this seems to happen in the bible (Jeremiah 26:13). God can change their actions without changing themself.
The Euthyphro dilemma is moreso about polytheistic religions. It doesn’t work with nor was it written about Monotheism.
2 millennia of Christian philosophy would disagree with you there.

No it’s not? I’m arguing that morality must be something separate from God. If the only thing that makes something morally right is that God wills it, then if God ever changes what they will, what is morally right will change.
