The Gnome desktop is a pretty good middle ground in my opinion. It is in my opinion even simpler than Windows to use and allows enough customizability with extensions. People in the Linux world love to dunk on it for using slightly more RAM and not having the same amount of customizability as other desktops like KDE Plasma.
Not only that, but requiring internet for installing also isn’t optimal for many developing countries. What, you need to bring your PC to an internet cafe to install Windows? I hope Microsoft at least offers physical USB installation drives that don’t require internet access.

In all seriousness I am running NixOS right now using flakes. The package manager compiles everything unless a trusted source already has it compiled, in which case the package manager checks the checksum to ensure you still get the same result and downloads that instead. It also aims to be fully reproducible and with flakes it automatically pins all dependency versions so next time you build your configurations, you get the same result. It is all really cool, but I still don’t understand everything and I’m still learning it.
I only have it enabled for social apps when someone actually is talking to me, but I just don’t understand why there are notifications for these recommendations or suggestions from some algorithm.
Sadly the only way to contactlessly pay with your phone is Google Pay, Apple Pay or maybe Samsung pay at least where I love. And I don’t trust any of those companies. There is no other open source standard implementation and you can’t even just use your bank’s app.
There are really people out there using React for their static portfolio website. I think JavaScript frameworks are fine if they compile into a minimal bundle with lazy loading, incremental server rendering, etc. As long as you don’t ship unnecessary JavaScript with a full virtual DOM and slow down your page.
Brave is still based on Chromium and suffers from Google decisions. Remember when Google wanted to remove Manifest V2? Brave would also be affected by that. Yes, it is open source, but they do not have the resources to maintain a seperate codebase with Manifest V2 support while Google keeps updating Chromium without Manifest V2. Firefox ftw

Jerboa works just fine for me. I’m also on a Fairphone 4, but running CalyxOS with Android 13. Maybe you can try Jerboa from another source like F-droid instead of Google Play or vice versa. You can also try the IzzyOnDroid repository on F-droid.
Same. I just keep Brave around for that. I hope Firefox gets get support when Linux also starts supporting HDR.

I don’t know for everywhere, but we don’t chain them and they only stay for about 2 weeks (2 weeks is the minimum due to regulations) in their hut, after that they go to the veal farm where live in a “straw yard barn” (a barn with one big open space with straw on the floor) where they call walk freely and they also go outside daily.
But that’s for organic farming in the Netherlands, it may be different from a nonorganic farm in the US.

The problem I have is that you must use one of the terrible devices to view movies and shows at high quality. So far, pretty everything except Netflix doesn’t offer higher than 1080p or even 720p on PC due to DRM. Netflix required the most expensive subscription for 4K and only works on Windows with their app. Even if you have the latest expensive hardware, you need to get a cheap Chromecast, Roku, Fire TV stick or Apple TV for DRM. That’s for TVs, but none of those devices work on less common resolutions like 1440p or ultra wide resolutions. Which means the only way for me to watch those movies with a cinematic aspect ratio in high quality on my fancy monitor is either physical media or piracy.
