As someone whose last name is uncommon and starts with an i and a vowel, no it is not. The number of times it gets mistaken for an L is ridiculous. Even when I present an ID with the name all in caps, people fuck it up all the time.

There’s no getting around the healing time between procedures, but that should have been factored in to your appointments from the start. Anything beyond the required healing plus about two weeks per appointment over the entire course seems excessive to me.

I think you underestimate how much some countries are willing to support having a positive relationship with the US in spite of it being in their best interest to do otherwise.

I don’t believe in a higher power, but I had a moment that kinda feels that it could have been. Around 2004, I was driving on the interstate at 2 in the morning to pick up a friend who was stranded. I was in the leftmost lane and no one else was on the road nearby. For whatever reason, I shifted over to the middle lane without really thinking about it. Not 30 seconds later, what I presume was a drunk driver came barreling down the road heading the wrong way in the lane I had just moved over from. It didn’t even register to me what had happened until the car had passed me. I had my ex in the car next to me and we both just kind of freaked out when the realization hit.
